Pot of Gold ~

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

TGIF!  I don’t know about you, but October is flying by for me!  I got the sweetest little set from SP and Company stamps the other day and just had to stamp it out.  It’s called Lucky Day.  I felt the need for a little sparkle and lots of color, so I stamped out a pot of gold and a rainbow to play around with.

The rainbow is colored in three shades of each color – R24, R27, R29; YR04, YR07, YR18; Y11, Y15, Y26; YG17, YG23, YG25; B14, B18, B24; BV02, BV13, BV17 – giving a small highlight right at the bend of the rainbow.  The cauldron is colored in cool greys.  Cool greys are used for metal pieces – C3, C5, C7.  It’s a blue toned grey so it works well for that *cold* feeling.

Here’s a little detail shot of the gold prize!  I colored it first with Y28 and then went over it with a Gold AtYou Spica pen.  I really didn’t need the base color.  When covering an item with glitter, I always color the item a base color because I get better coverage; however, with the AtYou Spica pens, you get great color coverage and great glitter coverage!   Check out that sparkle!!

Thanks for stopping by!  *May You Always Find the Gold at the End of the Rainbow*, my friends!!  Have a spectacular weekend!

happy Feet Santa ~

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

Hello!  So glad it’s Friday…well, kind of…I’m working a 12 hour shift today and have oodles of work to do!  Oh well!  At least I get to color cards in my spare time ;o)  I’ve got a new little guy to share with you today that I’ve dangled in front of you before.  I know I’ve mentioned how much I am in love with the Wild Rose Studio line of stamps…well, now I have the new Pickle the Penguin character to show you!!  This is Pickle with Sledge – such a great stamp for your holiday collection!

I colored him up to follow along with the pattern paper – just trying to follow my own suggestions {wink!}.  The presents are colored with Copics while the bows are made super sparkalay with AtYou Spica pens.  I used a little Flower Soft and glitter for the snow at his *happy* feet and a little white flock and glitter for his hat and scarf trim.  The card base and mats are a smokey gray color to tie in with his coloring.  So fun to put it all together!

Kiki LaRue Latte with Pumpkins

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

As soon as fall got here I started hearing all the happy comments of how excited everyone was to get their hands on their pumpkin lattes again. So, what a perfect opportunity to mask together Kiki LaRue Latte and Swiss Pixie Fall Scene?
If you missed Sami’s post on how to mask two stamps together you can see that here.
I masked in both ways, two stamps together and then I also created a mask for my airbrushing. Here’s some pics of that process:
I had lined my stamps up with my Stamp a ma jig (is that the name?) so I could stamp the images in the exact same place twice. Then I cut out the second one to use as the mask.

I airbrushed my sky in with B21.
It’s hard to see but I also airbrush in the ground with E31. But that got covered up eventually with some fall mix Flower soft.
Can you see her little bandana? That was a ball to doodle with my black copic multi liner and added dots with my copic opaque. Here’s a close up of that:
One last close up of that adorable brad by Milton (that btw.. matches Kiki’s Latte cup!!)
Colors I used:
Ok, I think that about covers it! Geesh, did I hold you hostage long enough? Now you are free to roam blogland and I hope your surfing will bring you to our Masking Challenge this week!

Challenge #50 Winner

Written by Ash. Posted in Uncategorized

Hi guys!! It’s Dana and I’m here with this weeks winners. If you notice the generator says 39 when there were 40 entries. One entry was entered twice (we all know how easy that is to do, right?) and it did not get deleted before the collection closed. Had the winner number been after that entry I would have had to do some juggling. But since it wasn’t, no worries =)
The winning number is:

That’s you Joy!
Here’s Joy’s card:
Congratualtions!! Please contact us at  at info@icopic.com  so we can make arrangements to get your prize to you. Please put “Winner Challenge 50” in the subject line.
