Furr-Ever Friends

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Uncategorized

Happy Friday everyone, it’s Holly here today… Have you checked out the July Release from Newton’s Nook Designs? They are celebrating their Four year Anniversary this month with 6 new Stamp sets, a border die set and 4 Stencils. Today I’m using one of the new stencils from the July Release and the Furr-Ever Friends Set from the June Release.

I started with a piece of Bristol cardstock, using the Paw Print stencil form Newton’s Nook. I smooshed some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide onto the back of the stencil. Then I spritzed it with some water and flipped it over and laid it down on the Bristol. I let it sit for a few minutes then I used a paper towel to dab up any excess that may of come through the openings. I heat set the panel with a heat tool. The I die cut the panel using the MFT Blue Prints 15 Die-namics. You can see how I created the background and more ways to use these stencils in the video below.

I stamped the halo image from the Forever Friends set onto the panel with some Gold embossing powder , then I adhered the panel to a White top folding card base. I die cut the stitched cloud from the MFT End of the Rainbow die-namic and stamped the sentiment in the center. I adhered the Cloud with some foam tape leaving enough area to add the cat silhouette. I stamped the cat silhouette in Black ink and I heat embossed the Wings onto some Vellum in Gold. I cut the images out and adhered them to the cloud. For an extra touch of sparkle I added some Mixed Sequins from Neat & Tangled.

Happy Birthday!!

Hello, MarkerPOP friends!!! July is a busy birthday month in my family. Do you have a certain month of the year that has more birthdays than others? Another month for us is May.

Today, I am working with the Avery Elle’s Birthday Bus stamp set and Chameleon markers:

To start this card, I stamped the van image onto white cardstock. The line for the road is drawn in with a black tip pen. I decided to add the presents to the top of the car and balloons above the card. I also used the black tip pen to draw in the balloon strings. To finish the scene, I added a couple exhaust puffs to the van. The sentiment is stamped at the bottom of the card in the center.

I used lots of Chameleon markers to color in the scene, I started with the balloons and worked my way down the card, saving the van for last. To finish the card, I added a some white gel marks to each of the balloon.

The following Chameleon markers were used on today’s card:
NU1, NU2, NU4, BR2, BR4, BR5, YO2, YO3, YL2, BG4, BL2, BL3, BL4, PR4, YG3, GR3, RD2, RD4, BK4, CB, OR4, PK3
Thank you for stopping by today! Have a great one!

You’re One of a Kind

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Uncategorized

Hello, everyone… Holly here today with a Fun card featuring the new You’re Claw-some set from Lawn Fawn.

I started by die cutting some Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Rainbow 6×6 Papers using the Mama Elephant Basics Creative Cuts set. Then I die cut the Green piece with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Border die set. I adhered that to the blue piece to create a background.

I stamped all the images from the You’re Claw-some set onto some X-Press it Blending card stock using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. Then I colored them in with Copic Markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out. I added some Red Wink of Stella to the Stars on the claw machine and some Clear Wink of Stella to the Unicorn image. I adhered the pattern pieces to a White card base and then I added the Claw machine with some foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment onto some additional X-Press It card stock and used the My Favorite Things Stitched Sentiment Strips die-namics to cut it out and adhered it with some foam tape. I wanted to give the effect of glass so I used Sandy Allnock’s technique and added some White Gesso paint with a small dry brush over parts of the image.

I used the following Copic Markers: Claw Machine- YR12, YR16, C3, C1, C00, R24 & R29. Claw and all metal looking pieces – C3, C1 & C00. Bears: R24, R29, YR07, YR04Y15, Y19, V16, V17, YG03, YG25, B02, B05, R21 & R20 Unicorn: B00,B000, Y13 & Y11, Background inside Machine: BG000 & BG0000.

Glimmer Paste on Dark Cardstock

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Uncategorized

Hi!  It is Lisa here today and I am sharing what I think is a scrumptious and pretty card!  I was so excited with the way the glimmer paste by Nuvo shows on dark cardstock, that I seriously want to cover everything with this stuff! Take a peek at how I mixed this paste with lots of Altenew goodies…

To create this card I started by going over the Altenew Stencil: Sketched Lines on black cardstock with the Glimmer Paste.  I then set this off to the side and stamped and embossed my sentiment from the Altenew Beautiful Quotes Stamp Set in gold.  Next, I stamped flowers onto watercolor cardstock from the Wild Hibiscus Stamp Set.  To watercolor the flowers I used a mix of Distress Markers and Distress Oxide Ink.  I decided to fussy cut them out and added some Nuvo Drops to the centers.

Finally, I layered all of these up onto my cardbase.  Isn’t it just so pretty?!  Sometimes you just can’t help but feel excited when an idea turns out just as you were hoping.  I hope to see you share some of your new creations with us in our latest challenge featuring Christmas in July!

Happy Crafting!
