Moose You!!

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Uncategorized

Hello everyone..  I hope you are having a Great week so far. Today I’m sharing a Cute card featuring lots of fun critters from the My Favorite Things Warm & Fuzzy Friends set. Each image was stamped onto some watercolor paper with some VersaFine ink. Then I colored each image in with Distress Markers and a water brush for a watercolored look.

I used the following Distress markers on the images: Gathered Twigs, Vintage Photo, Ground Espresso, Tea Dye, Rusty Hinge, Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke, Old Paper, Peeled Paint, Festive Berries, Carved Pumpkin, Black Soot & Mustard Seed. After the images were dry I cut them out using the coordinating dies and my Big Shot.

I created the background by die cutting two pieces of patter papers from the Doodlebug Happy Camper 6×6 pad using the MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangles and Stitched Snow Drifts die-namics. I adhered the background to a top folding A2 size White card base using some foam tape for the grass area. Then I added each image with some foam tape as well. I stamped the sentiment from the same set onto a piece of White card stock using VersaFine ink and die cut it with a banner from the MFT Blueprints 27 die-namics.

Hi!  It is Lisa here with you today and I have a sweet little camping scene to share with you today that I have created with the Avery Elle Glamper Campers Stamp Set, Zig® Clean Color Real Brush Markers, Gansai Tambi Watercolors, and My Favorite Things Blueprints 31.  Take a peek…

Clean Color Real Brush Markers Used: Light Green, Yellow Green, Mustard, Yellow, Pink Fl. Pink, Light Carmine, Wine Red, Light Violet, Lilac, Light Blue, Cobalt Blue, and Black.

For all of the stamped images I used the Clean Colors, because of their vibrant and fun colors.  Plus I love that you can use them with or without water.  For the banner I simple colored and for most everything else I used them as a watercolor.  Now for the background I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolor Set because I had a large area to cover, and I am just not very good using the markers on larger areas.  I also like being able to add layers of colors when creating backgrounds and the Gansai Tambi are just easier for me to do this.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you are getting a chance to join us in our watercoloring challenges this month!  They are located on the right side of the blog!

Hello, MarkerPOP friends! Are you enjoying all the watercolor tips and techniques the design team has been sharing? I am not all that comfortable with watercolors, but lately I have been stepping out of my comfort zone and using them more!

Have you ever tried to do paint splatters? I have to admit, it took me several attempts before I was happy with my splatters!

Today, I am working with Lawn Fawn’s Year Seven stamp set and Prima Confections – Tropical watercolors.

I stamped the piñata image onto watercolor cardstock with Memento Black ink. Once the ink was completely dried, I painted the image using Prima Confections watercolor. The image is then cut out and set aside.

Time to work on the background of the card. I randomly stamped the candies and confetti stamps over the panel. Now it is time to do the paint splatters! First, I choose a magenta color paint and watered the color down. Using a paint brush, I soaked up the watered down paint. Over the cardstock panel, I lightly tapped the end of the paint brush, tilting the brush in the direction I wanted the splatters to go. I repeated this process with each color of paint.

Once the paint dried, it is time to piece the card together. A piece of white twine is attached to the piñata image. A foam dot is attached to the back of the piñata and attached to the background panel. The twine is wrapped around the top, to make the piñata look like it is hanging for the top. The sentiment is stamped and embossed onto black cardstock. The sentiment is then cut into strips and attached to the card!
