Birthday Bar
Hi everyone! Samantha here for our first 3D Thursday here at the new MarkerPop Blog! My 3d project is super simple and perfect for birthday gifts for co-workers or neighbors. These would also work as party favors!
For the 3D part of my project, I just measured the candy and wrapped it with pretty patterned paper! It was so easy. In case you are wondering, this is a Hershey’s XL Dark Chocolate bar… Yummmm!! There was very little measuring and absolutely NO scoring for this one. Then I just added a pre-made sentiment & a strip of coordinating patterned paper.
The difficult part of my project was the coloring and paper piecing. I used this beautiful image from Gorjuss that comes in the Flying Above It All stamp set. I even made a video showing you how I colored her hair. It is a bit long, but I walk you through the entire hair coloring process from start to finish & even tell you a lot about my approach to hair coloring in general. Enjoy! 🙂
After coloring the hair, I also colored her skin (E00, E21), Dress (YG23, YG25), and Socks (YG23, Y25, BG45, BG49). Then I paper pieced the bird’s body with some coordinating patterned paper. I just popped up the image onto some 3d foam adhesives and then my little gift was complete!
That’s all for today, but don’t forget to play along with our first challenge (Click here!) Tracy will be back tomorrow with another project to inspire you. Have a great day!
