Cute Little Elephants!

Written by Samantha Peyton. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi everyone! Samantha here! Happy day after Thanksgiving for our USA readers! I hope that your holiday was delightful. Here at MarkerPop we are ready to get back to crafting so I’ve got a Christmas project for you today.

My card today features this adorable image from Wild Rose Studio called Starry Night Bella.

I decided rather than coloring up the sky part of the image, I would just cut around the image & use a snowflake patterned paper for that part.

I used the following Copic colors for this one:

  • For the snow: BG0000
  • For the elephants: B91, B93, B95
  • For the ears & nails: C0, C1
  • For the red hat: R22, R24, R27, R29
  • For the green hat: G03, G05, G09

Expert Tip: Bling it Up!

Add some flair to your Copic coloring with BLING! Glitter, Rhinestones, Enamel Dots, Pearls, Brads, Crystals, whatever you want. These items add a cute little decorative accent to what would be a very flat piece on your card.  I blinged up the little Santa hats with some glitter glue.

I created the “rope” lines for the banners using the #20 Chocolate Spica Glitter Pen.

That’s all I’ve got for you today! What are your crafty plans for this weekend?  Let us know in the comments section below! We would love to hear about it.

Koala Marci

Written by Kelli Cortes. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi, everyone!  It’s Kelli here today with a card to share with you that uses the adorable La-La Land Crafts – Koala Marci stamp.  I stamped her in Memento – Tuxedo Black Ink and colored her with Copics:
hair- E27, E25, E23
skin- E01, E00, E000
cheeks and lips- R22, R20
skirt- RV29, RV25, RV23
boots- E15, E13
hat and koala on shirt- C7, C5, C3, C1, N0, E53, E51
I ran the E50 marker around the outside of the image after I cut it out to tone down the white card stock so it would match better with the cream in the patterned paper.

Sometimes when I’m deciding what to make or what layout I should do for a card, something different pops into my head and I just go with it.  That’s what happened with the patterned strip along the bottom of the card.  I used the beautiful October Afternoon – Woodland Park 8×8 Paper Pad and punched out a bunch of different sized circles in three different patterns and adhered them to a scrap piece of card stock.  Then I cut off the excess that was overhanging and adhered it to the card.  I thought it was a little different than just the usual single strip of patterned paper.

To finish everything off I added a little bit of Glossy Accents to the nose and eyes of her hat and some Clear Spica Glitter Pen to her skirt and rounded the bottom corners.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  🙂

Coloring Ribbon Tutorial & Snowman Card

Written by Samantha Peyton. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi everyone! Samantha here!  Since our weekly inspiration this past Monday was about custom colored embellishments, I wanted to incorporate that theme into today’s project. I decided to make a quick video tutorial on how to color your ribbon with your Copics. This technique comes in very handy when the ribbon in your stash just isn’t the right color. Also, it is a great way to stretch your crafty budget, just buy cream and white colored ribbons and you will be able to color them with any of your Copic colors for tons of possibilities!

Here is my video tutorial on how I colored the ribbon:

And here is a look at my finished project:

This adorable snowman image is from the Tina Wenke collection for Stampavie & this stamp is called Snow Family.

I colored the image in with the following Copic colors:
W0, YR24, R46, R59, B91, B32, B34, Y35, G19, E31, E34, E35, E37, E50, E51, E53, E57, E59, E49

To accent my card, I used a decorative brad from the My Mind’s Eye Winter Wonderland pack.

I hope that you enjoyed today’s tutorial. Don’t forget to stop by tomorrow because Kelli will be back with a wonderful project to share with you. Have a fabulous day!

Lil’ Devil

Written by Tracy Valure. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Saturday Spotlight

Hello! Tracy here today.  It’s almost Halloween, can you handle one last seasonal card!! I didn’t create as many as I usual do this year, but I do have a few. I loved the sweetness of this image!

Lil’ Devil – CC Designs

This little Devil is called Devilish Lucy from C.C. Designs. The paper is from the Serenity Collection by Bo Bunny. I used some Black hemp twine and looped it a few times. I used a punch on both sides of the image and weaved the twine in through paper. She is popped up a little with some foam squares to allow for the hemp. It’s hard to see, but the heart button is a Prima Wood Button from the Rosarian collection. It wasn’t the color I needed, so I just colored over it with my copic markers. The original was very light, pastel colors.  Did you know you could use your copics for more than coloring on paper?? Well, you can. I actually use mine to color pearls, rhinestones and sometimes ribbon!! Perfectly matches my image everytime!

Thanks for looking today and if you are going out to a Halloween Party – Have fun and be safe!!
