Two Christmas Cards

Written by Samantha Peyton. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi everyone! Samantha here and rather than a 3D Thursday this week, I am bringing you two Copic projects.

This card was made with another one of the gorgeous images designed by Tina Wenke for Stampavie. I just thought these mice were the cutest little darlings!! This image is called “Mice Under Mistletoe”.

Since they are all lovey dovey, I decided to add a sentiment that was lovey dovey too. This card would be great to give to your spouse for the holidays. I chose mostly masculine type colors for this one & only used a little bit of pink so it really could work for a hubby Christmas card.

I used the following Copic colors:

  • For the fur: W00, W2, W3, W5
  • For the teal: BG72, BG75, BG78
  • For the pink: R81, R83, R85, R89
  • For the red: R27, R39, R46
  • For the green: G29

I did something a little special with this stamped image. I just loved that tiny little bow above the mistletoe & I wanted my copic colored layer to look kind of like it was hanging from that bow. So what I did was I cut it in a way that made the bow hop right off the page. I carefully cut around part of the bow and then sliced the straight areas very carefully with my cutting tool. It took a bit of time, but the end result was pretty neat!

This beautiful sentiment & heart accent are both from SP and Company.

I stamped both of them in Memento London Fog ink.

I used this absolutely adorable image from Stampavie that was designed by Tina Wenke. It is called “Santa w/Lamb & Reindeer”.

I used the following Copic colors:

  • For the skin: E93, E00
  • For the snow: E40
  • For the pants/mittens: C0, C1, C6, C9, C10
  • For the reds: R24, R29
  • For the green: G29
  • For the animal fur: E77, E79, E47, E71, E44, E70
  • For the star: Y17

Around the edges of the image, I used some green ink & a sponge dauber.

I used the My Mind’s Eye Winter Wonderland collection kit for the sticker element and the snowflake paper. The polka dot paper is also from this same collection, but it is from the 6×6 paper pad.

Hello little birdie….

Hey there! Tracy here today with a card I created using My Secret Place by Gorguss Stamps.  I’m always a little leery when I color Black Hair, for me it’s the hardest of the colors to color.  For her hair I used the copic W’s. I wanted more of a warmer black. With any of my coloring I tend to go light then layer on the darker colors. My thought process is you can’t take it away very easily so it’s better to go light and slowly add in the dark.

The paper is Serenade from Bo Bunny and I used some black vintage seam binding.

Copic Colors:

Skin:  E000, E00, E11, R20
Hair: W4, W6, W8, W9, 100
Green: YG11, YG13, YG17
Red: R22, R24, R29
Wall: W2, W4

Thank you for stopping by today.

3D Thursday with an adorable penguin!

Written by Melisssa Forquer. Posted in 3D, Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi ya everyone!  Melissa here today to share an adorable Cocoa holder I made for little Christmas gifts.  I used the tutorial at Splitcoaststamper to create the box but made a few modifications to add my paper and embellishments.

I know so many who love candy canes with their hot cocoa at Christmas so I thought the pair would be great in a little treat box.  I also used this adorable Penguin with Candy Cane stamp from Tina Wenke at Stampavie.  This sweetie was colored in Copic makers after being stamped on Xpress It paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The sentiment is from the Some Odd Girl stamp set called Deck the Halls Tobie.

Thanks for stopping by today and don’t forget there is still time to join our blog hop with Tina Wenke!

Warm Wishes Penguin

Written by Kelli Cortes. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi, everyone!  It’s Kelli and today I have a little penguin card to share with you!  He’s from the Some Odd Girl – Warm Wishes Tia stamp set.  I stamped him in Memento – Tuxedo Black Ink and colored him with Copics:
C7, C5, C3
G28, G07, G05, G03, G02
R29, R27, R24, R22
YR18, YR16, YR15
E19, E50

For the lighter green strip I sprayed a piece of white card stock with Key Lime Pie Glimmer Mist and then heat embossed the snowflakes from the same Some Odd Girl stamp set in white.  The small red strip and scalloped border is from the Bo Bunny – Mistletoe 6×6 Paper Pad.  I wanted to add a little more interest to the card and I also needed a place to anchor the sentiment so I added some Divine Baker’s Twine in Cherry.  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set and is heat embossed in white.

To finish everything off I added some Spica Glitter Pen in Clear to the green parts of the image.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  🙂
