Sorry, Friend

Hello, MarkerPOP friends! I hope you are enjoying the beautiful day! This card seems fitting for today, because well…I am running behind. So better late than never right!?

I recently saw a video about using Zig Markers and creating a stain glass window look. I figured I would give it a try for today’s card.

I am using the Waffle Flower’s Enveloper Little Birdie stamp set to create the card below.

Starting with a piece of vellum, I stamped the image with embossing ink and covered the image with white embossing powder. I used a heat gun to melt the entire image. Once the embossing was cool, I flipped the vellum over and used a variety of ZIG Markers to color in the image. Because you are coloring on the backside, you can be forgiven for coloring outside of the lines.

When the coloring was completed, the vellum is trimmed down to size to fit on the front panel of the card. The sentiment is created using a couple different supplies. The ‘SORRY’ is created using a word die and black cardstock/ The ‘FRIEND’ is stamped and embossed in black onto the vellum.

I loved the stain glass technique and cannot wait to give it another try!

The following ZIG Clean Color markers were used on today’s card: 021, 022, 047, 400, 052, 070

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Just Wanted to Say Hello

Written by Valerie Ward. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello, Crafters! I can’t believe the end of May is next week! And with this being the last Thursday of May, this will also be my last post for MarkerPop. I want to thank MarkerPop for having me on their fabulous team; they are such a wonderful company, and I have enjoyed every minute of this journey with them!

So let’s move on to my card for the week! I am featuring lots & lots of Altenew products with this “Hello” card! The main feature of this card is their fun Painted Jellyfish stamp & die set. Here is Altenew’s Intro Video for this set:

Here’s the card I created using these fun multi-step stamps:

I stamped the jellyfish images with Altenew inks. For the green one, I used (light to dark) Bamboo, Olive, & Moss; these colors also all come together in a set of full size ink pads, and a set of mini’s, too. For the orange jellyfish, I used Sunkissed, Autumn Beige, & Velvet. You can get these colors when you combine the mini set Warm & Cozy with Red Sunset; there are also full size sets here & here.

The sentiment is created using Altenew’s Halftone Hello Stamp set & coordinating Die Set

For the background, first I spritzed 3 Altenew Shimmer Ink Sprays onto the paper (Lavender Fields, Sea Glass, Frayed Leaf). I let it dry, then I placed the Altenew Stone Wall Stencil over the background paper and spritzed it with Tsukineko’s Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spray; it gives it a very subtle finish. You can see it in this photo:

My final touch was adding Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Cupped Sequins: 4mm, 6mm, 10mm.

Thank you to MarkerPop for having me on their Design Team! Have a wonderful day, and Happy Crafting!

Penny Black: Watercolor Designed Stamps

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Uncategorized

Hi!  It is Lisa here today and I have a floral card to share with you.  I am sure many of you have seen the Penny Black stamps that resemble watercolored images once they are stamped, and I find them to be terrific!  The specific stamp that I have used for today’s project is called Magnolia Rhapsody, while this specific set is on back order there are many of the newest release sets that give the same results.

To create my card I started by stamping the Magnolia image with various Tombow Dual Brush Markers.  When you are wanting to add multiple layers of colors to one image I highly recommend using a MISTI.  This will save you so much time and just make everything easier!  After I had all of my colors added I used the blender pen that came in my Tombow Marker Set to blend the colors together, and to take away any splotchy areas.  You could also use a paintbrush and clean water for blending.

Next, I added my sentiment from the Mama Elephant Wishing You Stamp Set with Lawn Fawn ink in Deep Sea.  I then went around the borders of the card with Distress Ink in Broken China, and finished the card off with clear sequins.

I hope you are joining us in our latest challenge, as well as make sure you get entered into our latest giveaway!

Happy Crafting!

Happy Bird-day!!

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello everyone Holly here today and I hope you are having a great week so far! Today I’m sharing a fun card using the Adorable Flamingos from Avery Elle.

I started by die cutting a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor paper using the Wonky Stitches Die set from Avery Elle. Then I added some Distress Inks in Salty Ocean, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade & Mustard Seed to create my background. I tried creating a background with tape and a mini ink blending tool but in the end I didn’t like it. I really love the loose look you can create with these inks buy smooshing them onto the cardstock.  I used the the trees and bird stamps from the set to create the scene with some VersaFine Black ink.

Then I stamped the flamingo and grass images in VersaFine ink onto some Bristol cardstock and colored them in using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush.

#22 Pink Flamingo,#21 Light Carmine, #10 Black, #31 Cobalt Blue, #40 Green & #47 May Green.

I cut the images out with the coordinating dies and adhered them to the panel. Then I added some Fun Foam to the image panel and adhered it to a top folding card base. For the sentiment I die cut the banner from the Wonky Stitches Die set and then I added some color with the Blue Zig Marker and adhered it with Foam Tape. I wanted a little bit of sparkle so I added some Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

I love how Bright and Fun this card is.. and it’s Perfect for anyone who’s a Flamingo Fan!

Have a great day Thanks for stopping by.. Don’t forget to join our Copic Sketchbook giveaway going on until the 31st. You can find all the details here.
