Happy Birthday Pop-Up Box

Written by Valerie Ward. Posted in Anything But a Card, Eye Candy (Projects)

(at the end of my post I share how I store & transport my Copic markers!)

Eek! I think I’m in love! Today I broke out my new Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up Cut Set and created an oober-fun birthday pop-up box! If you haven’t seen this die and how it works, here is Lawn Fawn’s video:

Isn’t that fun?! OK, so for MY box, I pulled out a ton of Lawn Fawn (LF) stamp & coordinating cut sets, and some other LF stamp OR cut sets on their own:

I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press IT paper, and colored them with my Copic markers

I used papers from 2 new Lawn Fawn 6×6 paper pads to decorate the box: Perfectly Plaid and Watercolor Wishes.

This project was so incredibly fun to make, and I can only imagine all the possible scenes I’ll be able to create using this fun die set!

OK, now I’d like to throw in how I store my Copic markers, and how I transport them.

I have a wonderful collection of Copic Sketch markers; it has taken me almost 3 years to get to this point! When I’m coloring, I want them organized, and easily accessible. After much trial & error while experimenting with different storage solutions, I was finally thrilled when I discovered the Crafter’s Companion Untimate Pens and Markers Storage Units. You can get them in Clear (with a light tint of blue), or Black; I have the Clear ones. Here is an image of my markers and where I keep them on my work table:

(in this pic you can see the neighbor’s house still under construction and the mud pit it’s sitting on!):

Then there are the times when I need to take my markers with me; when that’s the case, I pull out my Copic Empty Clear Storage Cases. They come in different sizes for different Copic markers (Original, Sketch, or Ciao). I have 4 of the cases that hold 72 markers each, and that’s enough to transport my markers.

So that’s it! Make sure you head over to our Copic 30th Birthday Giveaway post because you still have time to enter !

Family Canvas

Written by Monica Edwards. Posted in 3D, Anything But a Card

Hi crafters!  How was everyone’s Memorial Day?!! Beautiful I hope nothing more important than remembering those who fought to give us what we have today!!  Today I am doing something totally different and I made a stamped canvas piece using Altenew’s  Peony Bouquet and it is colored using Tim Holtz Distress inks and reinkers.  If your using the reinkers I use the Tim Holtz ink palette to add all the color varieties.

I painted my 5×7 canvas with the Tim Holtz collage medium in matte to give it a nice even coverage sometimes the canvases you buy has areas that are not covered well.  I then stamped my gorgeous flowers using Memento Tuxed0 black ink  on my Apple Pie Memories stamping blocks to put the stamp and all of us stampers now a block is a must have right?!!

mixed media

To do the painting I used  Ranger Artist Brushes and also I used some Derwent Watercolor Brush Fine Tip watercolor brushes to get everything all blended together. 2016-05-30

I hope everyone has enjoyed my canvas piece and be sure to check out all the new goodies in store!

How to Stamps

Egg Anyone?!!

Written by Monica Edwards. Posted in 3D, Anything But a Card, Tutorials

Hi everyone!  March is finally here and Easter is right around the corner.  Today I am sharing an Easter project.  I found these eggs at Walmart they were like foam but the coating is hard to explain.  Basically, they were white so I took some inks and colored them and simply love how they came out.

I used Memento ink refill Espresso Truffle to make the splattered look on the eggs after I covered them with some tissue like paper, which helped hold the coloring on the eggs.  I used Memento Pear TartAngel Pink, Dandelion and Summer Sky.

CC Designs

For my image I used a 2.5×3.5 block from Apple Pie Memories on Xpress-IT paper with my usual Memento ink in Tuxedo black for the image impression.  CC Designs Pollycraft Birdie is colored with Copics.

Sending hugs, kisses and love with Heidi

Written by Heidi. Posted in Anything But a Card, Eye Candy (Projects)

Hello everybody, Heidi here, today sharing with you some Valentine’s tags featuring Lawn Fawn stamps and dies, Copic coloring and water colored background using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

20160202_211925

I started by brushing some Pink 025 Zig Clean Real Brush Marker onto a piece on water color card stock and  I added some water and some splatters of water and color, I let it dry and then I cut the tags using the “Tag, You’re It” Lawn cuts die. them I stamped the word “Sending” from the “Hedgehugs” stamp set, using black ink.

I stamped the critters from the “Party Animal”, and “Holiday Party Animal” stamp set and I used the coordinated dies to cut the images (Party Animal die set & Holiday Party Animal die set) which I later colored them with Copic Markers.

I cut the Lawn cut scripty dies, “Love”, “XOXO”, and “Hugs” from red and black cardstock and I placed them offset to give the word die a black shadow. I also cut some hearts using the heart die form the “Party Animal” die set. To finish these Valentine’s tags I added some Pretty Pink Posh cupped sequins: 6mm & 4mm Sparkling Clear, and 6mm & 4mm Pink Peonies.

I hope you enjoyed these tags they were fun and easy to make, all of the products I used are available at the Marker POP Store Thanks so much for stopping by, have a lovely day!
