No need for Ink!

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

It’s Lisa back here again this week, and on a Friday too! Woot woot!  If you haven’t seen the new Pinkfresh Studio Stamps you must stop by the store and check them out!  They have such a fun mix of stamps, and there are matching dies to boot!  Take a peek at the card I’ve created with their new Simply Succulents Set and Terrarium Dies.

To create my card I started by stamping the inside plants and dirt for my terrarium.  I was in the middle of watching an epic water balloon fight, so I found it easiest to just stamp everything with my Tombow Dual Brush Markers.  As of right now I only own the Bright Palette, but this didn’t stop me from having the colors I needed.  I simply layered my green, red and yellow together to get a brownish color for my dirt!  Once the terrarium stamping was done I stamped my sentiment, also using the brush pens.

I decided to die cut the Terrarium itself out of gold cardstock.  Since this die is so delicate and has thin lines I found it easiest to run it through my Xyron Sticker Maker.  Finally, I added gold flower sequins before popping it up on several sheets of patterned paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my card!  I hope you have an amazing weekend!

Tall and Adorable With Gorjuss Stamps

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi!  It’s Lisa here today and I have a new card I’ve created that is tall, thin, and oh so cute!  Thanks to the Large New Heights Stamp Set by Gorjuss this card just made itself…

Since the image is so big it is perfect for the tall and thin cards that are a less common to receive.  I also went for a plain background with a few accents and a sentiment from the WPlus9 Little Dreamers Stamp Set.  To color this image in I used a large mix of Spectrum Noir Markers: Hair:Black Brown, Coffee Bean, Dark Brown, Warm Beige; Skin:Dusty Pink, Portrait Pink, Tea Rose; Dress: Periwinkle, Denim, True Blue, Cobalt, Ice Grey 8, Ice Grey 10; Books: Cinnamon, Burnt Sienna, Sunshine, Avocado, Camo Green, Vermillion, Cherry Red; Grass: Salad.

For the background I masked my colored image first, then I went over the back with Distress Oxide Ink.  To finish it off I stapled this to the cardbase.  Before I go I just wanted to share that Gorjuss has released some mini images too, so make sure you check them out!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Fireworks and Mini Dogs? Yes!

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi!  It’s Lisa here with you today, and I have a super cute and sparkly card to share!  The adorable little dogs from the Mama Elephant Little Dog Agenda stamp set is perfect for everything!  I mean, those little guys can make anything look cute!  While this set is currently on backorder, you can get on the list for when it comes back in stock or pick up the similar Little Cat Agenda stamp set.

But, back to my card… so these little guys are ready for fireworks!  With the Lawn Fawn Stitched Fireworks Die it was easy to light up my sky…

To create this card I started by die cutting my sky and adding some shine with Ranger Stickles in Red, and Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard.  While this was drying I stamped, colored and cut my cute little dogs out.  I then added a hill for them to see the fireworks from by die cutting dark green cardstock with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders.  I put it all together and woo hoo!

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing this little scene!  And don’t forget to enter your projects into our newest challenge

Spotlighting Technique: Fun and Eye Catching

Written by lisascreativeniche. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi!  It is Lisa here with you today and I have a fun technique to share with you using a slightly older Lawn Fawn set, but can be used with any stamps you have!  The technique is called spotlighting.  Many of you may already know what this means, but for those who don’t it means there is a focus of colors in one specific area while the rest of the card is monotone.

For this card I’ve used the Lawn Fawn Color My World Stamp Set, Circle Dies, and various Copic Markers (C1, C3, C5, Y15, Y17, YR04, YR07, YG17, YG25, R24, R29, RV14, V22, V25, Booo, E35).  I started by stamping the crayon image randomly onto one panel of cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  Next, I stamped and heat embossed my sentiment onto black cardstock and adhered it across the panel. To create the highlighting effect I could have simply masked the area I wanted to highlight, but I decided to make it easier and die cut the area instead.  Keeping the circle separate from the rest of the panel I started coloring the images in.  The outer panel was colored with grey markers, while the inner circle was colored in bright colors.  Finally, everything was lined back together and adhered onto a cardbase.

I hope I’ve inspired you to try this technique, or to pull it out of your bag of tricks and play with it again!  Maybe you could even enter it into our latest challenge for a chance to win an awesome box of goodies?!
