Party Animals
Hello, everyone… it’s Holly here today. I hope your week is starting off good so far. Today I have a Fun card using products from Mama Elephant and an easy background you can create with Distress Inks.
I started with a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper and on the smooth side, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from Mama Elephant’s Make a Wish set in VersaFine Black ink. Then I heat embossed it with clear powder. This is a great way to heat emboss in Black if you don’t like the mess you get sometimes with Black powder.
I smooshed some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink onto my craft mat and spritzed it with water using the Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer. Then using an acetate sheet I picked up the ink and smooshed it all over the background. This is a very easy way to start creating backgrounds with Distress and it will work with both the Regular Distress and the Oxides. I let it air dry and then I added a few splatters of water and lifted it with a paper towel.
I adhered the background to a top folding A2 size card base and then I stamped all the images from the Mama Elephant Party Animals set onto some X-press it blending cardstock with some Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. I colored the images in with Copics in the following colors: C3, C1, C00, Y11, Y15, Y17, Y26, YR18, RV02, RV04, RV06, E21, E23 and E27. I used the coordinating creative cuts to cut them out and adhered them to the bottom with foam tape.
You can see how I created this card in the Video below…
Have you been creating with the new Distress Oxides ink lately? Leave a comment below, I’d love to hear how you’ve been using them.
Thanks for stopping by today!!!
