Hello Gorgeous!!

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Happy Friday everyone!!! I’m back today with a great project using the new Hero Arts Color Layering Flamingo set and the coordinating die.

mp2

I started by stamping the Flamingo image onto a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock using the Hero Arts Ombre pad in Pink to Red. Then I added the Black layers with a VersaFine Black ink pad. When using this stamp with the coordinating die you want to stamp the legs after you have die cut the image.. they line up a lot better.

mp1

I set the image aside and started on the background. On a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor paper I scribbled some Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker in Cobalt Blue #31 and May Green #47. Then using a wet paint brush I added some water to move the colors around. I dried the panel with my heat tool and then I stamped the Water Ripples from the set using some Merman ink from Lawn Fawn. I stamped the Grass images with Jalapeño & Freshly Cut Grass Inks from Lawn Fawn as well.

mp3

I trimmed some of the side off the panel and then I stamped the sentiment in the upper left corner and adhered it to a Black Licorice card base with some Foam adhesive. I trimmed a 1/4″ off the piece I cut off from the panel and added that along the left side of the card with some additional foam tape to create a Black Strip. I added the Flamingo image to the front of the card with Foam tape and then I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the image. For a bit more Sparkle I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins from the Sparkling Clear mix.

Watercolored Dalhias…

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects)

Hi everyone it’s Holly here today with a set of Watercolored cards. I’m using the Gorgeous Beautiful Bouquets: Dahlias set from WPlus9.

mp2

I started with some Tim Holtz Watercolor card stock and I Heat embossed the images in White. Then I die cut each panel using the Sew Fancy Creative Cuts from Mama Elephant. Once the Panels were all cut out I watercolored each image using Distress Inks. I smooshed each ink pad onto my Craft Mat creating a Palette.

mp1

I added clean water directly to the image first and then dropped in the ink using a slightly damp paint brush. After the first layer was dry I went over the images again adding in some more color to create some depth. Once the images were dry I added the panels to a top folding A2 size card bases. For the sentiments I used a few from the Altenew Label Love set and the Mama Elephant Organic Blooms Set.

mp4

After I created three cards I couldn’t stop…lol These came together so fast and would make a great gift set. I used several Distress Inks in… Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, Mowed Lawn, Spiced Marmalade, Victoria Velvet, Seedless Preserves & Salty Ocean.

Whale Wishes Spinner!!

Written by Holly Endress. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Tips & Tricks, Tutorials, Uncategorized, Videos

Hey everybody.. Happy Friday!!! It’s Holly here today with a fun Interactive Spinner card. I’m a little behind on using my Mama Elephant stamps and Dies.. there are a lot of new release products sitting on my desk waiting for some ink! Today I’m using the super cute Whale Wishes and the coordinating Dies along with the Framed Tags Columbus Circle Creative Cuts and the Ocean Wave Trio dies from the same release.

mp1

There’s a video below with more details on how I created this card with some tips as well. The Whale jumping out of the water is the Spinner on my card. I started by die cutting a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock with the Sew Fancy Creative Cuts and then I used the Columbus Circle creative Cut for the center of the panel. I stamped the sentiment on the lower portion of the card using the Mini Misti and some VersaFine Black ink. I added a few of the water splashes from the set using some Fish Tank ink from Lawn Fawn.

mp2

Then I die cut a circle from a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card stock and using some Distress inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar & Tumbled Glass I created a sunset with a Mini ink blending tool. Then I die cut the waves from the same piece of watercolor card stock and added some Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon Distress inks. I added the waves in the circle area on the front panel and used some foam tape between the layers. I stamped the Whales and die cut them out and adhered them. For a little pop of color on the Whales I added some Copic marker in R000  around their cheeks.

mp3

The upper Whale has a spinner element behind it allowing it to spin around. There are many techniques on how to create a spinner element on your cards and different products you can use. I used some elements from MFT’s April card kit that will be released in June. Once all the images were in place I added some additional adhesive and added the front panel to a top folding Licorice  A2 sized card base. I created two different cards one where the Whale will spin behind the wave and the other it spins in front of the wave.

Then I added some Distress ink to each of the pieces in Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean & Wilted Violet. Then I added each piece back into the panel with some Tombow Multi Liquid Glue. I stamped the sentiments from Because You and Magical Unicorn using my Mini Misti tool and some VersaFine Black ink. Then I attached the panel to a Black top folding card base.

I added some Stick it adhesive to the back of a piece Tim Holtz watercolor card stock and added some Picked Raspberry Distress ink to it and then I spritzed it with water. I lifted the color off with a towel and then I die cut the Because and adhered it to the center of the panel. I stamped the unicorn image onto some of the same watercolor paper using some Ranger Archival Black ink and colored it in with Distress Markers and using a water brush I moved the color around for a lighter look.

Once the image was dry I die cut it using the coordinating dies from MFT and added some Yellow & Clear Wink of Stella to the image. I adhered it to the card front using some Scotch Foam tape. I added a few of the Pretty Pink Posh Drops in Sparkling Clear with some Ranger Multi Medium Matte.

I used Distress Markers in Tattered Rose, Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke, Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade & Picked Raspberry.
