Three Ways Watercolor Card

Written by Heidi. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Tips & Tricks, Uncategorized

Hello everybody, Heidi here, welcome back to the MarkerPOP blog, today I am sharing with you three easy to make cards suing the raise die cut technique over a water colored background.

For this card I used the new “Scripty Friends die” by Lawn Fawn, and to create the backgrounds I used the”Kuretake ZiG Clean Color Real Brush Markers

20160419_214126 It so easy to water color using the Zig real brush markers, the color is very intense and the brush tip makes the work so much fun and easier.

I used four layers on each diecut piece so it has more dimension, I used Bazzil cardstock to cut the layers, which I adhered using Tombow liquid glue.

I cut the scripty die using black, white and the watercolored cardstock.  You could also pop the water colored diecuts over a white background or even a black background, so you have lots of choices with this technique!

If you have not tried this technique yet please give it a try it is fun and you can make quick and fun cards. All the products I used on today’s cards are available at the Marker POP store

For this card I used the “Make a Wish” stamp set, which I stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then I used “Picked Raspberries” and Peacock Feathers” Distress Ink to water color the background. I really like the water color effect of Distress Ink by Ranger. I placed the water colored piece on a card base made with Bazzil Marshmallow cardstock and I framed using the “Framed Tags Creative Cuts

I used couple of puppies from “Playful Pups” stamp and die set, and the party hats from the “Carnival Toppers” stamp and die set, I colored them very simply, using Copic Markers: T0, T2, T4, BG18, BG 15, BG13.

I hope you enjoyed this card, all of the products that I used are available at the Marker POP store.

Have a lovely rest of the week!

Using a Holiday Set to Create a Mother’s Day Card Featuring Mama Elephant

Written by Heidi. Posted in Eye Candy (Projects), Tips & Tricks, Uncategorized

Hello everybody, welcome back to the Marker POP blog, for today’s post I created a Mother’s Day card using the holiday stamp set “Festive Mice” and its coordinataed die set by Mama Elephant. I also did a little of paper piecing using the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid 6×6 paper pad

20160329_174411_002

I used a piece of water color cardstock to blend some “Abandoned Coral” and “Tattered Rose” Distress ink to create the background. Then I used the “Brick background” stencil by My Favorite Things with some white ink to give it some brick texture in few spots. I stamped and die cut the stamped images and then I colored them using Copic Markers.

20160329_174432To frame the card I used my new favorite frame die from Mama Elephant “Creative Cuts Framed Tags,” which I cut from some white cardstock. Finally I stamped the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn mini stamp set “Mother’s Day.” I hand wrote the word “MOM” inside of the dream bubble.

I hope you enjoyed this card, all the products I used are available at the Marker POP Store,

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a lovely day!
