Faux Watercoloring Needs Love Too!
Hello! It’s Lisa here today, and as you’ve seen we’ve been focusing on all things watercoloring this month on the blog. So I have a card to share that can still fall under the watercoloring tutorial, but with no paints or water… Now I know what you’re thinking, shut the front door! But there are so many great products available now that give the impression of watercoloring, without the work! Here are just a few of such products…
My Favorite Things Written In Water Stamp Set
SugarPea Designs Watercolor Brushstrokes
My Favorite Things Patterned Paper Wash 6 x 6 Paper Pad
Altenew Watercolor Wonders Stamp Set
And here is what I’ve created for my “faux watercolor” project…
To create this card I started by diecutting my sentiment into my “watercolored” patterned paper from the My Favorite Things Wash Paper Pad. I made sure to keep all of the tiny inside cuts off to the side and in a pile so that I would have them when I was laying the word cuts back into place. I then used two other papers from the same paper pad and die cut the words to inlay over my first cut. Once the sentiment was done I stamped my butterfly image from the newly released Beautiful Butterflies Stamp Set ,also by my Favorite Things, onto separate cardstock. I then cut it out and adhered it to my cardbase. Of course it wasn’t finished without some bling so I busted out my Pretty Pink Posh Clear Sequins, and ta-da!
I was able to achieve the watercolor look with out any mess. Now don’t get me wrong I LOVE watercoloring, and there is no mess as far as I’m concerned, but if you shy away from the paints then I wanted to share with you another option.
Hope to see you play along in our latest watercoloring challenge for a chance to win goodies!

Faux watercoloring … that’s funny! … just when I thought you guys had covered all aspects of watercoloring. Ingenious! Talk about thinking out of the box! Your card turned out beautifully. The butterfly was a nice pop against the beautiful soft background. I’m loving that Pretty Pink Posh clear sequin … gotta get myself some.
