Just A Little Note…
Hello! It is Lisa here with you today, and while Valentine’s Day has come and gone don’t start putting those Valentine sets away just yet! I’m hoping to show you how a little switch of colors and a different sentiment can really open those “Valentine” sets up for more possibilities…
To create this card I started by stamping my little hedge hog images onto Neenah Solar White Card stock. These characters are from the Penny Black Furry Hugs Stamp Set. I then colored them in with Copic® Markers (E00, E21, C3, R20, R22, R29, YG03), and fussy cut them before setting them off to the side.
While the images themselves still seem lovey, I went through some of my older paper pads and tried to find colors to off set that theme. When I found the blue hearts and the purple I thought it would be a perfect fit. I chose the Waffle Flower Lacy Layers Die Set to cut my blue heart panel. I then added a strip of lined paper over this and all of it was adhered to the purple panel onto the front of my card. The other key to this card was the sentiment. This one is from the Concord & 9th Hello Lovely Stamp Set, and I stamped it using Lawn Fawn’s Deep Sea Ink Pad.
It’s always fun to come up for more uses of our supplies, bigger bang for our buck right?
Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!

This is great idea for use of older paper pads. I was doing the exact same thing just 2 nights ago, and felt that the background paper may be too distracting for the stamp image. However, your card turned out perfect. Thanks for the idea!

I really like this card! Very cute stamps. I always try to find lots of ways to use my stamps, in fact I’m pretty picky about my seasonal ones. I make sure there are images I can use all the time (even if it’s just those tiny hearts and doo dads)! 🙂

Love your card! I like your twist on the “Valentine’s” theme set … not only did you create a different card theme but you also made it look more animated by separating the two hedgehogs … the left hedgehog looks like he’s running towards the right one. Thank you … I always appreciate tips on how to stretch crafting supplies.
