Trick or Treat
Hi, everyone! Kelli here today with a Halloween card to share with you! I’m so excited that it’s just about that time to start with the holiday cards. My husband thought I was crazy for already making a Halloween card, but I couldn’t help myself!
I made the background and grass using Tim Holtz – Distress Inks. Almost all the distress inks I have are the minis. I love how I can collect a lot more colors this way. The moon (yes it looks like a sun, oops, lol) was done using Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade from Kit 1. The background was done using Shaded Lilac from Kit 4, Dusty Concord from Kit 8, and Faded Jeans from Kit 5. The grass was done using Crushed Olive from Kit 8 and Peeled Paint from Kit 5.
I blended all the inks together using the Mini Ink Blending Tool.
I wanted to give the background a starry look but I didn’t want it to be overwhelming so I made little dots using my Tim Holtz – Picket Fence Distress Marker.
I cut the tree out of black card stock using the Paper Smooches – Seasonal Tree die set.
The pumpkins are from the Lawn Fawn – So Thankful stamp set and were stamped in Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics:
YR18, YR16, YR14, YR12
E27, E25, E23
G28, G07, G03
I cut them out using the matching So Thankful die set.
The sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn – Trick or Treat stamp set and is heat embossed in white onto some vellum.
The card base was stamped using the Lawn Fawn – Woodgrain Backdrops stamp set.
Everything was adhered using the Crafter’s Companion – Adhesive Runner, dimensional foam adhesive, and liquid glue.
I finished everything off by adding some white gel pen stitch lines.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!
