Welcome, baby girl! + Videos
Hi, everyone! Kelli here today to share a baby girl card with you along with a couple of videos! I made a baby boy card using the same stamp a little bit ago and I wanted to make one for a baby girl. You can click HERE to see the baby boy card.
I stamped the Magnolia – Little Trumpety with Bow stamp in StazOn ink onto some Tim Holtz – Watercolor Paper. I watercolored her with my Tim Holtz – Distress Markers in the following colors:
Body – Pumice Stone
Toenails – Frayed Burlap
Inner Ear and Cheek – Tattered Rose
Bow – Picked Raspberry
I made the background using my Distress Markers as well. I made it while I was playing around with my markers but I kept it to use on a later project. I thought it was perfect for this card. Basically, you scribble color onto your craft sheet, spray it with water from a Mini Mister and then blot your watercolor paper into the puddles. If you dry it with your heat tool and blot it into the puddles again you will get different colored spots over the first layer. I think that second step is really what makes the background stand out.
I stamped the ‘Welcome,’ part of the sentiment using the Lawn Fawn – Milo’s ABCs and the ‘baby girl!’ part using Sally’s ABCs. The patterned paper that they were stamped on came from the Lawn Fawn – Hello Sunshine 6×6 paper pad.
I added some Studio Calico – Gold Dots, Lawn Fawn – Hello Sunshine Sequins, My Mind’s Eye – Sweetest Thing Dots, and some rhinestones coming out of her trunk. Then, to finish everything off, I added some Spica Glitter Pen in Clear to the elephant’s bow.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day! 🙂
