‘Tis the Season Snowman
Hi, everyone! Kelli here today with a Christmas card to share with you! I also want to share a little tutorial of how I colored the snowman at the end of this post. For the main image I used the sweet Whiff of Joy – Cute Snowman stamp. I stamped him with Memento – Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It paper and colored him with Copics:
snowman body- B32, B21, W1
snowman arms- E59, E57
snowman nose- YR18, YR16, YR14
hat- C9, C7, C6, C5, C4
scarf- G28, G24 G21, R39, R29, R27, R24, E55, E31, E51
cardinal- R39, R29, R27, R24, E55, E31, E51
snow- B32, B21, B000, B0000
The card base is the Bazzill Card Shoppe – Chocolate Malt. The thickness of this card stock is great and perfect for card bases! The background, scalloped edge, main image, and sentiment were all cut out using the My Favorite Things – Blueprints 6 die set. The patterned paper is from the Echo Park – Reflections Christmas 6×6 paper pad. The sentiment is from the My Favorite Things – Starry Christmas stamp set.
The twine is from craftkin.com and is in the color Red Sunset.
To finish everything off I added some white gel pen stitch lines to the card base, some glitter to the snow and some Glossy Accents to the snowman’s nose.
To color the snowman I first made little dots around the outside edges using my darkest color, B32. You will want to have fewest of the darkest dots.
Next I added some dots in B21 in between the other dots and I also brought them out a little further into the center.
Finally I added quite a few dots in W1. This is the lightest color so you can add more of them and don’t have to be as careful. I brought these out even further into the center.
You can also color snowmen the traditional way where you blend the colors, but this is a fun alternative!
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day! 🙂
