Hello! Tracy here today with a card I created using Tilda with Pencils from the latest Magnolia Collection. Which in case you didn’t know is now in the store and shipping!!

I colored Tilda with Copic markers.  Typically when I color I’m a little  heavy handed. Today I went extra heavy because I wanted to talk a little bit about how I shade. I colored my image just as I normally would but then I went back in with W’s. Mostly W4 and W7. I added in W7 in the darkest areas to give my image more depth. On my lighter colors, like the pencils, I mostly used W4. Had I gone with too much of the W7 in the light yellows, I felt it would have been too dark.  I also added W4 along the face where the hair would make a bit of a shadow. W’s are also great  for shading REDS.

You can see in the above  photo the gray tones.

Copic Colors used:

Hair: E21, E23, E29, W7
Clothes: BG70, BG10, BG72, BG78, W4, W7
Pencils: Y11, Y15, E33, W4, W7
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13, W4
Shadows: BV20, Bv23, W1, W0

Paper:  Echo Park , Sweet Day
Twine:  Bakers Twine, Sunkissed
Dies: My Favorite Things, Scallop Die

Thanks for looking today and I hope that you give some deep shading a try on your next project!
